Hello dear hearts
I have tried to write this for days now. I sat down two Sundays ago while in Texas and it was impossible. I sat down yesterday and it felt like pulling teeth.
Today, as I am writing this, is Monday the 10th of October. I have no idea when y’all will read this or if y’all will read this. I might delete everything and give up. It’s a surprise for me too if this hits the inbox!
But right now, before I lose steam, let’s get into a little September look back.
September Wrap-Up
I miss doing these and was going to keep doing them on my blog, but I feel like I’ll it here better. So let’s see.
Posts On the Blog
A Taste of Gold of Iron - eARC Review - a queer normative fantasy set in a Persian inspired world, Bodyguard/Royal trope, Grumpy One + Anxious One, high stakes political plot that is beyond interesting and intricate, one of my favorite reads of 2022
These Stubborn Hearts #1 - the first in a serial flash fic, introducing the FMC, Taura Harrington - a stubborn eldest child who feels the pressure of doing her duty
These Stubborn Hearts #2 - the follow up, introducing the MMC, Lysander “Les” Stacey - an exhausted, mildly annoyed attorney/necromancer who just wanted an easy estate handoff
These Stubborn Hearts #3 - cute little banter featuring chocolate chip muffins

Writing Update
Speaking of books, I am ripping apart and piecing back together my dark academia WIP. I have my original idea, plus three evolution notes all together and will see what I can create out of all of them.
I felt like I was straying so far from my idea back in summer 2021 and was letting books I was reading this year influence my writing rather than inspire. (Yes, those are two different things.)
Also, it’s very possible, I will just revisit this project entirely next year and let the rest of this year be something else. Who knows. Not me!
Anyhoo. I’m ready to take a nap now, so…
Until next time,
-A
