Hello dear hearts,
No little intro for this Sunstack, just this mini soundtrack that has me in a chokehold.
Potential CW: religious/chanting/gospel-esque music that centers around Lucifer. It goes with the show Devil in Ohio which I truly can’t recommend enough. I watched the whole thing in one day.
Ten Things
It’s possible I got in a fight with the fridge. Also possible that the fridge won. And my head hurts. Along with my feelings.
I have read 73 books so far this year: the top five moods are emotional, adventurous, dark, mysterious, and lighthearted; mostly fast and medium paced; typically between 300 and 499 pages; top five genres are romance, fantasy, erotica, contemporary, and mystery (LGBTQIA is the top genre, but that’s a given); read primarily e-books; average star rating is 4.12 - all stats are from Storygraph.
One day I will figure it out. But that day is not this day.
Yup, Mercury Retrograde in Libra is hitting me hard. I should have known it would. Trying to slow down and think about my words to others and those I love is hard when I want to address communication failures. Figuring out that balance between saying what needs to be said and not being hurtful is fucking hard.
Pulp-free orange juice for breakfast.
Note to self: yellow for Dorian/Arch.
I love finding people to connect with via social media and then taking our connections further in spaces that allow for more. In scheduled Netflix Watch parties or Zoom calls, in exchanging numbers or addresses. Sometimes I really love social media.
Sometimes the Trending (For You) on Twitter is on point: The Moon, GoodReads, the trailer for Disney’s Disenchanted, and Pedro Pascal.
Almost didn’t post it today, but here we are, drinking our beverages, and being here together.
This Week
I watched Devil In Ohio on Netflix and loved everything about it (also Bishop Briggs wrote and performed the intro song. It’s fucking brilliant)
The Queen of England died and one of my chosen family wrote these words in their capacity as a deathworker that I’m re-reading
Posted a new Behind the Stacks thread on writing games. If you haven’t checked it out yet, please do so!
I’ve been writing and deleting and writing and deleted my first essay submission since 2015ish. It doesn’t feel right. Only a few more days until the deadline.
Cryptid Romance Collages
These four just keep running around my mind. I know nothing except Jareth Vibe King and Forest Goblin King smooch and argue about which is better: mushrooms or crystals. Also Queen Moth and The Labyrinth Rose are amused and have their own little flirtation happening.
One day I might write some cute little flash fics and give them all some moodboards. Who knows!
What do you see when you look at them?
Until next time,
-Ash
Okay, that show is moving up in my mental ordering of What Do I Watch Next. It sounds AMAZING.
I saw your collages earlier this week I think (?) and I love how detailed and lush they are.
Also thank you for the link, I'm not sure what to do, it's been literally years since someone linked a thing I wrote online *embarrassed emoji* *grimacing emoji* *crying emoji* etc lol <3
All of this is why I’m here, I always look forward to your Sunday musings. Also, now I have to check out The Devil in Ohio like I HAVE to😆
